I have called the surgery for an urgent appointment as suggested by 111 as I am unable to make an appointment with the surgery. The receptionist told me to fill out an online form which will be looked at and triaged. There was no response at all during the day in spite of the urgency or at least an advise on what to do. I decided to attend the walk in clinic, was given inhalers and antibiotics with a further review in 3-4 days time. It is frustrating that access to the surgery now is very limited, and everytime you call its always it has reached full capacity and the advise is to go to A&E. Prior to the pandemic, there are urgent slots with the duty doctor which are used when necessary. This service seems to have disappeared. I am a health care worker and I understand the pressures; this difficulty in accessing primary services adds on to the pressure in secondary and tertiary services with patients going to A&E with issues that could be addressed in primary care. I hope that this can be reviewed to allow for further evaluation of the current system and find a better way for patients to access the service.
The surgery should not refuse older\vulnerable people to make an appointment over the telephone.
You are providing an essential public service, never forget that.
I was told to go online to make an appointment from reception this morning (8.45am, 20/06) Either this is policy, poor training or worse deliberate.
Cannot make an online appointment - even when the surgery is closed! This is when most people who work and have busy lives are going to have the time to think about making appointments!!!
No one ever answers the phone in a helpful or polite manner. You feel rushed to get off the phone and rarely listened to.
My daughters medication was increased gradually over a period of weeks so when she ordered her prescription online, some helpful person cancelled the prescription WITHOUT telling her because they neglected to realise that she would run out quicker than usual and thought she was ordering too much. She has now been without medication for 3 days, is very unwell, is not meant to stop cold turkey from this medication and we can’t inform anyone or ask for help because of the stupid website!
Great surgery, with superb staff. So friendly and helpful.
Great service which is much appreciated especially at this time.
